Scorpions, Toads, Lizards
& Snakes
Scorpions, Toads, Lizards and Snakes
are a normal part of owning a dog in Arizona. These creatures can be
dangerous, and even lethal, to your dog. We take preventative measures, but
we can't control the desert environment. We recommend if you suspect your
dog has been in contact with these creatures, you IMMEDIATELY take your dog
to your veterinarian for emergency treatment. You also might wish to
investigate, with your veterinarian, preventative measures and some of the
latest vaccines and treatment options.
Injuries
Dogs can and will get injuries during
play, fights, accidents, grooming, doggie daycare, training and boarding.
Some injuries are sports injuries. Just as we get injuries when we train and
play hard, dogs will get injuries, and injure people, from time to time.
Dogs bang into one another, pick things up with their mouths, and dogs will
be dogs. We
try to minimize the risks of injuries, but animals will do things at times
you can't control. We are going to be evaluating, supervising, grooming,
boarding, caring for, and training you and your dog in the real world. The
the real world has hazards that can’t always be avoided (such as traffic,
leashes that break, crazy dogs that bite their owners, dog fights, sprains,
strains, bone breaks, tooth loss, dogs that pick fights, and such like).
Working with dogs always involves substantial and inherent risks of injury,
including death. The risks include accidents, errors, and natural and
man-made hazards. You warrant you and your dog are physically healthy and
controllable enough to be trained. You shall provide complete and accurate
details about your situation with your dog.
Poisoning
Dogs will get into things and eat
things, from time to time, that could make them ill, or even kill them. We
recommend if you suspect your dog has been in contact with these substances,
you IMMEDIATELY take your dog to your veterinarian for emergency treatment.
We use non-toxic cleaners and procedures at Paws to Play, so it is highly
unlikely that your pet would encounter anything harmful at our facility..
HOLD HARMLESS AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
By making contact with us or our business associates and
friends, or doing any business with us, you fully acknowledge and understand
the risks to your dog and agree to unconditionally release and indemnify us,
our contacts and customers from any
liability and hold us
harmless from all damages in the event any dog or person is injured
through our interactions. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DOG'S, OR ANY
PERSON'S, MEDICAL BILLS OR ANY RESULTING DAMAGES FROM THESE INJURIES OR
THEIR EFFECTS! We can't
be. There is no way for us to prevent all accidents... dogs are intelligent
creatures and will get into things, even with supervision, containment, and
training. We aren't veterinarians and modern medicine doesn't have cures or
preventative measures to screen out everything. The only way you could
prevent your dog from ever being injured would be to put your dog in a
bubble, not do business with any kind of pet professional, stay in your
house 24 hours a day, don't go buy dog food from any public retailer, don't
take your dog for walks in public where birds or insects might be, etc...
which is impossible... and not very humane. Life is sometimes harsh and unfair. This is one of
those kinds of things. If you have more questions: Call your veterinarian
for more specific advice. NO DOGGIE DAYCARE, TRAINER, GROOMER, BOARDING FACILITY...
OR EVEN YOUR VETERINARIAN... CAN PREVENT 100% OF THESE INJURIES AND STILL
HAVE A NORMAL BUSINESS OPERATION.
